Job Tasks and Responsibilities

What We’re looking For

In this exciting period of growth, we have an exciting opportunity at Moolarben Coal Operations to join our Underground team as an Undermanager. Working with a dynamic team, you will be a strong leader who has the ability to drive the correct safety culture whilst maintaining a strong focus on continuous improvement, problem solving and high standards. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Allocate Deputies to the Districts of the Mine to Comply with Mine Inspection System and the WH & S Act and Regs .

  • Ensure Compliance with all Management Plans & Systems used to manage Moolarben Coalmine

  • Audit areas of the mine to maintain compliance with Management Plans & Systems

  • Respond to Trigger Action response Plans (TARPs)

  • Ensure all work is completed to a high standard & in Compliance with the standards established for the various areas of Moolarben coalmine

  • Conduct Start of Shift Meetings with Deputies, Crew Leaders & Control room operators

  • Conduct Debriefing Meetings with Deputies, Crew Leaders & Control room operators

  • Conduct Start of Shift Toolbox talks with Employees

  • Complete a detailed Shift Report

  • Read & sign all statutory & deputies production reports for your shift

Skills and Experience

Our Essential Criteria

  • Minimum 7 years’ experience in Underground longwall Mining       
  • NSW 2nd Class (Undermanager’s) certificate of competency
  • Diploma Underground Coal Mine Management (Undermanager)
  • Significant people leadership experience
  • Ability to promote a positive safety culture within the mine
  • Strong communication, interpersonal and leadership skills.
  • Sound planning, organisation and problem-solving skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to meet production targets.
