Job Tasks and Responsibilities

What We’re looking For

In this exciting period of growth, we have an exciting opportunity at Moolarben Coal Operations to join our Underground team as . Working with a dynamic team, you will be a strong leader who has the ability to drive the correct safety culture whilst maintaining a strong focus on continuous improvement, problem solving and high standards. Your responsibilities will include:

 

  • Allocate Deputies to the Districts of the Mine to Comply with Mine Inspection System and the WH & S Act and Regs .
  • Ensure Compliance with all Management Plans & Systems used to manage Moolarben Coalmine
  • Audit areas of the mine to maintain compliance with Management Plans & Systems
  • Respond to Trigger Action response Plans (TARPs)
  • Ensure all work is completed to a high standard & in Compliance with the standards established for the various areas of Moolarben coalmine
  • Conduct Start of Shift Meetings with Deputies, Crew Leaders & Control room operators
  • Conduct Debriefing Meetings with Deputies, Crew Leaders & Control room operators
  • Conduct Start of Shift Toolbox talks with Employees
  • Complete a detailed Shift Report
  • Read & sign all statutory & deputies production reports for your shift

Skills and Experience

Our Essential Criteria

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in Underground Coal Mining       
  • NSW 2nd Class (Undermanager’s) certificate of competency
  • Diploma Underground Coal Mine Management (Undermanager)
  • Cert IV OH&S Workplace Safety (desirable)
  • Significant people leadership experience
  • Ability to promote a positive safety culture within the mine
  • Strong communication, interpersonal and leadership skills.
  • Sound planning, organisation and problem-solving skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to meet production targets.
