Job Tasks and Responsibilities

What We’re looking For

In this exciting period of growth, a number of opportunities exist at Moolarben Coal Operations to join our Underground team as a Deputy. Working with a dynamic team, you will be a strong leader who has the ability to drive the correct safety culture whilst maintaining a strong focus on continuous improvement, problem solving and high standards. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Ensuring all crews are following HSEC policies and procedures.
  • Achieving and driving agreed production targets.
  • Delivering maintenance schedules in accordance with statutory and site regulations.
  • Performing statutory and compliance inspections in line with legislation.
  • A strong focus on minimising wastage and cost saving initiatives.
  • Facilitating crew/shift communications sessions.

Skills and Experience

Our Essential Criteria

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in Underground Coal Mining.
  • NSW 3rd Class (Deputies) Certificate of Competency.
  • Cert IV Underground Coal Mining (desirable)
  • Strong communication, interpersonal and leadership skills.
  • Experience with promoting a positive safety culture within the mine.
  • Sound planning, organisation and problem-solving skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to meet production targets.
