Moolarben Coal mine is Australia’s largest thermal coal producer and has both Underground and Open cut operations producing over 21 million tpa. It has over 800 employees with employees residing in the beautiful Mudgee area, with all the facilities for a fantastic family lifestyle.
Job Tasks and Responsibilities
The Talent Acquisition Specialist will be responsible for proactively developing attraction strategies to source the best candidates & increasing diversity across the Moolarben Complex (Open Cut, Underground and CHPP sites).
The key responsibilities include:
- Develop innovative, creative and proactive talent acquisition strategies that identify & develop key talent pools.
- Partner with Hiring Managers & HR to understand business needs, job requirements and source candidates accordingly.
- Oversee the full recruitment lifecycle across the Moolarben complex.
- Organise and lead interviews, offering best practice guidance and ensuring an outstanding candidate experience.
- Collaborate with key stakeholders to develop an annual Recruitment Strategy.
- Coordinate and facilitate interviews, providing guidance on best practices and ensuring a positive candidate experience.
- Experience leading and managing multiple tasks and Talent Acquisition projects while remaining flexible to changing priorities.
- Optimize recruitment processes and ensure a seamless candidate experience by identifying & recommending process improvements.
- Develop & maintain partnerships with external recruitment agencies and stakeholders as necessary.
- Deliver recruitment analytics and reporting as required.
- Ensure compliance with employment laws and company policies throughout the recruitment process.
- Coach & Mentor Recruitment/HR Administrator in best practice.
Skills and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or equivalent experience
- Strong understanding of talent sourcing methods, including job boards, and networking
- Proven experience in recruitment leadership, preferably in a high-volume environment
- Analytical mindset with experience tracking and reporting on recruitment metrics
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with both stakeholders and candidates
- Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to juggle multiple priorities effectively
- Proven experience in building talent pools for niche, unique, or hard-to-fill roles within the industry
- Experience in managing and identifying talent pipelines for future hiring needs
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, multi-disciplinary team environment
- Strong understanding of diversity & inclusion best practices in recruitment
