Job Tasks and Responsibilities

Join our growing team as we build new pathways to support our Operation with this exciting, freshly minted role! Based on site at Moolarben Coal Operations and reporting to the Environment and Community Manager, you will be a part of a dynamic and motivated team. This diverse position will support current and future expansion projects, focusing on Biodiversity Stewardship Agreements.

The role will require you to:

  • Lead and prepare Biodiversity Stewardship Agreements, approvals documentation, environmental assessments, and environmental management plans;
  • Lead, prepare, and review technical environmental reports;
  • Participate in the development of offset strategies required for future approvals.
  • Mentor and support members of the E&C team;
  • Partner with internal & external operational stakeholders to provide accurate environmental advice;
  • Assist with environment related training and development across the complex;
  • Manage contractors and consultants from scope preparation to project completion; and
  • Prepare and review technical environmental reports.

Skills and Experience

The successful candidate will have the following skills and attributes:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Environmental Science, Engineering or equivalent.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills;
  • Excellent attention to detail and time management skills;
  • Well-developed interpersonal skills to work within a team environment.
  • Ability to build and maintain effective relationships with all stakeholders;
  • Relevant experience in a similar role within the mining industry is desirable.
