Moolarben Coal mine is Australia’s largest thermal coal producer and has both Underground and Open cut operations producing over 21 million tpa.  It has over 800 employees with employees residing in the beautiful Mudgee area, with all the facilities for a fantastic family lifestyle.

Job Tasks and Responsibilities

Based on site at Moolarben Coal Operations and reporting to the Open Cut Mine Manager, you will be a part of a dynamic and motivated team. The role will require you to:

 

  • Safely and effectively lead the production teams to meet waste and coal targets in the Open Cut.
  • Maintain a comprehensive understanding of supervisory requirements, both site based and legislative.
  • Follow and maintain compliance with the Yancoal vision and values.
  • Ensure employee and contractor engagement is managed to meet the requirements of site policies and procedures.
  • Assist with reporting, budgeting and monitoring of expenditure.

Skills and Experience

Essential Criteria 

 

  • Open Cut Examiners Certificate of Competency. 
  • Open Cut Mine Managers Certificate of Competency or working towards (Desirable)
  • Substantial supervisory experience in Open Cut Mining (10 + years)
  • Excellent planning, coordination and ability to interpret data.
  • Strong knowledge of statutory laws and regulations governing open cut/underground mines.
  • Very good interpersonal skills, including written and verbal communication skills.
