Job Tasks and Responsibilities

 

Reporting to the HST Superintendent, this position will be responsible for the disciplines of Safety and Emergency Management within the Underground operations, aligned with the requirements of the Safety Management System. Duties will include: 

  • Providing technical expertise, guidance, and coaching on all health and safety matters, in alignment with the company’s Health and Safety Management System and applicable legislation.
  • Engaging with and coordinating key internal and external stakeholders to plan and execute site emergency simulations.
  • Liaising with external stakeholders to coordinate Mines Rescue training activities.
  • Ensuring the key components of the Emergency Management System are effectively maintained and monitored.
  • Leading and conducting internal incident investigations.

Skills and Experience

 

  • Tertiary qualifications in OHS/Training 
  • Certificate IV in Workplace Training and Assessment.
  • Experience in Emergency Response and/or Underground Mining.
  • High level of proficiency in MS Office suite.
  • Previous experience in an HST role within the heavy industry sector.
