Moolarben Coal mine is Australia’s largest thermal coal producer and has both Underground and Open cut operations producing over 21 million tpa.  It has over 800 employees with employees residing in the beautiful Mudgee area, with all the facilities for a fantastic family lifestyle. 
 

Job Tasks and Responsibilities

Based on site at Moolarben Coal Operations and reporting to the Commercial Manager, you will be part of a dynamic and motivated team. You will lead a team of four Site Accountants responsible for monthly financial and management reporting, CAPEX applications, ledgers, asset registers, budgets, forecasts and reconciliations. In addition you will undertake analysis to support cost control and assist in making timely business decisions. This role is a 12-18 month, full time, fixed term contract. 

Skills and Experience

About You

  • Tertiary qualifications in accounting or commerce
  • CA/CPA membership
  • 3-5 years post qualification experience (CA/CPA) preferably in the mining industry
  • In depth knowledge of current Australian GAAP
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Office 
  • Excellent attention to detail and time management skills
  • Previous experience leading a team
  • Well-developed interpersonal skills
  • The motivation and ability to; be positive, be curious, learn, listen, contribute to a ‘one team’ work culture, take on challenges and deliver work to the standard and deadlines required.
