What does your daily life look like at Yancoal?
As a Risk & Insurance Specialist, you will be supporting the company’s Enterprise Risk Management activities, and the operation of Yancoal’ s Insurance function.
Your responsibilities include:
- Support the implementation of the company’s ERM roadmap.
- Support the day-to-day implementation of the company’s enterprise risk and opportunity management methodology.
- Support both scheduled and ad-hoc risk assessment, including the update, review and analysis of risks and opportunities, and facilitation of the risk workshops for the bi-annual refresh of the group material risk profile, and other projects responsible by the function.
- Help prepare timely, succinct, and accurate risk management reports for business units, the Board, and different committees.
- Support the management, implementation, improvement and testing of the enterprise risk management software. Help maintain the system on a day-to-day basis.
- Prepare and update a risk management guide and roll out training for risk owners across the company when required.
- Support the development of key risk indicator (KRI) and building these KRIs into the enterprise risk management software.
- Support the annual renewal of the company’s insurance program and collate the required information from stakeholders across the company.
- Work with sites and insurance broker to manage claims as/if required.
- Other tasks assigned by the Manager, Risk and Insurance.
What do you need to be successful in the role?
To be successful in the role you will require the following skills:
Qualifications, Experience and Skills:
Essential
- Minimum 2–3 years’ experience in a similar role, including end-to-end risk management or internal audit, with demonstrated capability in facilitating risk workshops.
- Strong understanding of risk management standards (e.g. ISO 31000) and related methodologies.
- Advanced proficiency in MS Office applications, particularly Excel (data analytics), PowerPoint, Word and Outlook.
- Strong critical and analytical thinking skills, with high level of attention to detail.
- Excellent time management and organisational capabilities.
- Proven stakeholder management skills, with the ability to communicate and collaborate effectively across functions.
- Ability to quickly learn and navigate corporate systems and software (e.g. risk management tools)
Desirable:
- Experience working with SAP
- Ability / experience of process automation, data analytics and establishing dashboarding (e. g. Power BI, Alteryx, etc.)
- Sound verbal and written communication in Simplified Chinese (Mandarin)
- Relevant professional designations (e.g. CPRA / CPRM, GIA, CA/CPA, etc.).
- Experience in managing insurance requirements, contracts and renewals.
- Prior experience working within a publicly listed company.
