GROUP MANAGER, MID-OFFICE MARKETING

Job Tasks and Responsibilities

Reporting to the General Manager Marketing, you will be a part of a dynamic and motivated team. The Group Manager, Mid-Office Marketing will support the Marketing and Logistics (M&L) team in the development and implementation of our Trading, Risk M&L system with a focus on data integrity and efficient processes. In addition, the role will have a Marketing element for domestic customers of Yancoal coal.

 

The role will require you to:

  • Execute Yancoal’s M&L strategy with direct responsibility for the effective and efficient marketing and supply of both thermal and metallurgical coal product to domestic customers.
  • Manage Sales and Market analysis to support the Marketing team with an analysis of Supply and Demand dynamics and managing the Price Protocol process.
  • Responsible for ensuring data integrity across the entire M&L function.
  • Ensure contracts and procedures satisfy and are within compliance limits and audit requirements.
  • Assists in identifying, scoping & prioritising development requirements for the marketing risk and trade system.
  • Adopt and implement best practices for Middle Office into the YAL M&L department.
  • Produce reports and keep the team/management informed, utilising M&L data to enable effective decision making.
  • Manage budget and sales forecast process and sales planning revenue optimisation requirements.
  • Manage JV relationships and exchange of information.
Skills and Experience

Qualifications:

  • Appropriate tertiary qualifications.

 

Experience:

  • A minimum of 10 years’ experience as a Middle Office manager or similar role in a top tier institution.
  • A minimum of 10 years’ experience in the marketing/supply of coal in the seaborne market.
  • Experience in negotiating and budgeting.
  • Understanding of end user coal utilisation characteristics to ensure alignment of marketing strategies to Yancoal product mix.

 

Skills:

  • Ability to research best practises and design and implement efficiencies to create improvements in process and applications.
  • Demonstrable management, planning, and operational leadership skills.
  • Proven ability to negotiate the acceptance of new initiatives and to liaise with customers and other senior personnel in the resources industry.
  • Results-focused approach with the ability to identify and act on opportunities. 
  • Proven ability to foster strong relationships and build rapport with people from divergent backgrounds.
