New South Wales’ Gloucester Basin is home to the Stratford Duralie operation, producing high fluidity semi-hard coking and thermal coals.
Job Tasks and Responsibilities
Yancoal Stratford is currently looking for an enthusiastic and experienced Plant Mechanic to become a valued member of our team at Stratford Coal. Working a Monday to Friday rotating Day/ Afternoon Shift roster at the Duralie site, you will be responsible for the execution of planned maintenance; breakdown repairs and machine rebuilds. This role is a great opportunity to contribute to productivity and continuous improvement initiatives in mobile equipment maintenance and rebuild areas of our business. You will be working on the following equipment; Trucks Cat 785, Water Carts, Cat Graders, Track Dozers, D10T, Komatsu WA900 Loader, Cat 988 Loader Liebherr 994B & Hitachi 2600 Excavators.

Essential Criteria:
- Certificate of proficiency – Mobile Plant Technology (or similar mechanical relevant trade);
- Proven Heavy Industry experience;
- Excellent communication skills;
- Proven ability to work safely in a team environment;
- Proven skill in diagnostic problem solving across the mobile fleet;
- Demonstrated ability to produce high quality of work;
- Ability to problem solve technical issues quickly and efficiently.
Desirable criteria:
- SAP experience;
- Previous OEM Experience and diagnostic/fault finding experience;
- Industry relevant qualifications (high risk tickets);
- Knowledge of planning / scheduling and risk assessment process.
