Job Tasks and Responsibilities

Yancoal Stratford is currently looking for an enthusiastic and experienced Maintenance Technician to become a valued member of our team at Stratford Coal. Working a Monday to Friday rotating Day/ Afternoon Shift roster, you will be responsible for the execution of planned maintenance; breakdown repairs and machine rebuilds. This role is a great opportunity to contribute to productivity and continuous improvement initiatives in mobile equipment maintenance and rebuild areas of our business. You will be working on the following equipment; CAT 789, 785 Trucks, Water Carts, CAT Graders, CAT D10T Track Dozers, Komatsu and CAT Loaders, Liebherr & Hitachi Excavators, Epiroc Drills.

Essential Criteria:

  • Mechanical Trade Qualification;
  • Proven Heavy Industry experience;
  • Excellent communication skills;
  • Proven ability to work safely in a team environment;
  • Proven skill in diagnostic problem solving across the mobile fleet;
  • Demonstrated ability to produce high quality of work;
  • Ability to problem solve technical issues quickly and efficiently.


Desirable criteria:

  • SAP experience;
  • Previous OEM Experience and diagnostic/fault finding experience;
  • Industry relevant qualifications (high risk tickets);
  • Knowledge of planning / scheduling and risk assessment process.
