Job Tasks and Responsibilities
At Yarrabee, we’re building more than a high-performing operation, we’re building a team that works together, supports each other and continuously improves. We’re now looking for an experienced Warehouse Supervisor who is ready to step into a key leadership role and make a real impact from day one.
About the Opportunity
Reporting to the Commercial Manager, you’ll lead the day-to-day warehouse and stores function while driving safety, performance and continuous improvement across site.
This is more than a traditional warehouse role, you’ll play a critical part in shaping the future of how we operate. Initially, a key focus will be leading and embedding the implementation of the new Yarrabee Warehouse Operating System, improving functionality, streamlining processes and ensuring it delivers value across the business. You’ll work closely with operational departments, suppliers and internal customers to strengthen relationships, improve service delivery.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Lead and support the warehouse team to operate safely efficiently and collaboratively to foster strong cross functional relationships with other departments to drive continuous improvement, streamline processes to enhance overall operational performance
- Ensure warehouse operational team members understand their role by providing strong leadership, guidance and support
- Champion a strong safety culture aligned with Yarrabee’s Safety & Health Management System
- Set consistent standards for supply and logistics across the operation
- Take ownership of the warehouse operating system implementation and optimisation
- Develop and manage strategic supplier relationships ensuring high service standards timely issue resolution and the delivery of cost-effective quality outcomes
- Ensure timely, accurate supply of parts and materials to support internal customers
- Maintain, monitor inventory control and warehousing systems ensuring accurate stock management and efficient operations. Manage purchasing activities inventory levels and supplier performance to optimize costs whilst maintaining product availability to support business objectives
- Identify and deliver continuous improvement opportunities across stores and logistics processes
- Coach and develop your team to deliver high performance and a positive team culture
What We’re Looking For
You’re a hands-on leader who thrives in a fast-paced mining environment and enjoys bringing people together to achieve results.
You will bring:
- Proven experience in warehouse/stores leadership within mining or heavy industry (5+ years)
- Strong knowledge of inventory management, purchasing, and systems (SAP desirable)
- A passion for safety, with demonstrated risk and hazard management capability
- The ability to lead change, particularly system implementation or process improvement initiatives
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to influence and build relationships at all levels
- A proactive, solutions-focused mindset with a commitment to continuous improvement
- Relevant qualifications and certifications (e.g., Standard 11, Supervisor competencies, forklift licence)
