Cameby Downs is a small open-cut thermal coal mine in the Surat Basin of southern Queensland, managed by Yancoal and positioned between Chinchilla and Miles. Our site employs around 260 dedicated personnel who are committed to fostering a strong culture of teamwork and collaboration.

Job Tasks and Responsibilities
Reporting to the Mine Production Manager, you will be part of a dynamic and motivated team. The role will require you to:
• Have a thorough understanding of the QLD Coal Mining Legislation and how they pertain to individual and supervisor obligations.
• Demonstrate understanding of associated plant and machinery within the mining environment and how to apply "best" fit for the same.
• Experienced in leading personnel in a mining environment, including prioritising tasks and allocation of same to crew members
• Well-developed operating skills on a wide range of earthmoving equipment
Skills and Experience
- QLD OCE Certificate (Open Cut Examiner Certificate)
- S1, S2, S3 & G2 (mandatory)
- Current Open Class Drivers Licence (mandatory)
- Demonstrated high level of communication, analytical and problem solving skills
- Demonstrated skills in risk awareness, hazard identification and a strong commitment to safety performance
- Able to manage, coach and lead operators and establish an effective team
- Able to demonstrate courage to uphold standards, policies and procedures
- Basic computer literacy - ability to use MS office suite
- Standard 11 Mine Induction - surface
- Senior First Aid Certificate or higher
