Job Tasks and Responsibilities
Reporting to the Production Supervisor, you will be a part of a dynamic and motivated team. The role will require you to:
• Ensure compliance with the requirements of the Mine Safety and Inspection Act and Mines Safety Inspection Regulations
• Provide direct supervision of employees and sub-contractors working within the area of responsibility and allocating day-to-day work priorities
• Focus on creating a culture of care by being a visible safety leader, engaging, developing and coaching your team
• Manage workloads and allocating duties across the production team to deliver the plan and ensure all development targets are achieved
• Promote continuous improvement by challenging work practices and encouraging employee participation in new concepts
Skills and Experience
The ideal candidate will have the ability to lead positive change and support the continual development of a high performing production team. They must demonstrate a commitment to working safely, complying with all site safety standards, mine working procedures and ensure a safe and environmentally healthy workplace. In addition, the ideal candidate will meet the following:
Essential Criteria:
• Sl,2,3 Supervisor and G2 Qualifications
• Possess and maintain a current drivers licence
• Previous Supervisory or step-up experience within an open cut mining environment
• Thorough understanding of individual responsibilities in relation to the Coal Mining Safety& Health Act and associated regulations
Desirable Criteria:
• Well-developed written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to create positive working relationships and be adaptable to various communication styles
• Previous experience in the operation of plant and machinery within a mining or heavy industry environment
• Intermediate computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, SAP and similar systems and databases
