Cameby Downs is a small open-cut thermal coal mine in the Surat Basin of Southern Queensland, Managed by Yancoal and positioned between Chinchilla and Miles. The site employs around 260 personnel who are committed to fostering a strong culture of teamwork and collaboration. We are currently looking for CHPP Operator to join our team and ensure our operations run smoothly and efficiently.
Job Tasks and Responsibilities
The CHPP Operator is responsible for operating Mobile Equipment within the CHPP (e.g. Stockpile Dozers, ROM/Bypass/TLO Loaders and other ancillary mobile equipment) in a safe and efficient manner, and in accordance with company policies and procedures.
EXPECTATIONS
- Participate and contribute to the Yancoal Safe Way Everyday culture
- Engage and be a part of developing a strong team culture
- Use your experience and initiative to identify and report workplace hazards, implement controls and ensure a safe work environment for all personnel
- Understand and adhere to all CDM SHMS procedures and QLD Coal Mining Legislation relevant to the role
Skills and Experience
- Heavy Mobile machinery experience - 900 and 600 class wheel loader
- Strong understanding of risk awareness, hazard identification and an everyday commitment to safety
- Well-developed verbal and written communication skills
- Proactive and demonstrated ability to exercise initiative
- Ability to work in a team or independently as required under minimal supervision
- Ability to prioritise and manage own workload
