Owned and Operated by Yancoal Australia, Mount Thorley Warkworth (MTW) is an open cut mine that provides the opportunity to live and work locally. Located 15 kilometres south-west of Singleton in the beautiful Hunter Valley region of New South Wales, MTW relies on both dragline and load haul systems for their continuous operations. The MTW Mine is the largest open cut operation in the region, employing approximately 1,450 people who reside in the local and surrounding communities.
Job Tasks and Responsibilities
We are seeking a passionate Training Officer to join the team at Mount Thorley Warkworth (MTW). This role reports to the site Training Supervisor. As part of the broader Health, Safety and Training team, the Training Officer will ensure all training developed or conducted on site is in alignment with the site Training and Competency Management Scheme, Yancoal values, and relevant site department’s goals & objectives.
In particular, you will be required to:
- Develop, review and deliver internal training across site;
- Deliver training and assessment in isolation, site induction, contractor supervision & light vehicle operations;
- Maintain legislative and regulatory standards for training documents and procedures;
- Source, arrange and coordinate external training as well as involvement with training audits; and
- Coach and provide feedback to stakeholders and training participants.
Skills and Experience
Essential Criteria:
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in a Training role
- Must have excellent presentation & communication skills
- Certificate IV in Training and Assessment
- Must have excellent time management skills
- Well-developed range of enterprise skills
Desirable Criteria:
- Previous Surface coal operational experience in a training role
- Knowledge of Pegasus/Avetta Portal
- Knowledge of CS Order 34 guidelines
