Owned and Operated by Yancoal Australia, Mount Thorley Warkworth (MTW) is an open cut mine that provides the opportunity to live and work locally. Located 15 kilometres south-west of Singleton in the beautiful Hunter Valley region of New South Wales, MTW relies on both dragline and load haul systems for their continuous operations. The MTW Mine is the largest open cut operation in the region, employing approximately 1,450 people who reside in the local and surrounding communities.

Job Tasks and Responsibilities


We are currently seeking a skilled and experienced Mining Operator – Poly Welder to join the MTW Dragline, Drill and Blast Team. Working a 2-panel dayshift only rotation and reporting to the relevant Mining Supervisor.

The ideal candidate will be safety focused, highly motivated and proactive who is passionate about mining and wanting to take their skills to the next level. You will have extensive experience operating Poly-Welding equipment and chainsaws and it is desirable that you also have experience operating pumps and small excavators.

To be successful in the role you will also display the following skills and attributes: 

 

Essential Criteria:
•    Hold a current Poly-Welding competency;
•    Hold a current operate and maintain Chainsaw competency;
•    Hold a current Dogman competency;
•    A positive, proactive can-do attitude;
•    Proven ability to work unsupervised, displaying flexibility;
•    Excellent communication skills;
•    Ability to establish and maintain healthy working relationships with other stakeholders in the business.

 

Desirable criteria:
•    Experience operating pumps;
•    Experience operating small excavators.
