Maintenance Supervisor – Asset Health

Yancoal MTW is currently seeking an experienced Maintenance Supervisor – Asset Health with strong front-line leadership experience to join our team on a fulltime basis. 

This would be an ideal position for a person with a maintenance engineering background who is interested in optimizing equipment performance and reliability whilst managing a small team of Asset Health Advisors.

Owned and Operated by Yancoal Australia, Mount Thorley Warkworth (MTW) is one of the largest open pit operations in the area. Located 15 kilometres south-west of Singleton in the beautiful Hunter Valley region of New South Wales, MTW relies on both draglines and load haul systems as the current and preferred mining method. Our site operates continuously 24 hours a day, seven days a week and has a long and proud history, employing approximately 1350 people from local and surrounding communities, who are our most valuable asset. 

Job Tasks and Responsibilities

Reporting to the Maintenance Coordinator, you will be responsible for ensuring effective asset monitoring is implemented to achieve optimal equipment performance and availability whilst working Monday to Friday. 

In this role, you will also be responsible for:
•    Developing and implementing the required in depth procedures, training guides and TARPs for the effective execution of the asset health role.
•    Ensuring all team members are engaged through clear understanding of role accountabilities.
•    Coordinating with OEM and third party equipment monitoring services to ensure the business is effectively utilising information and actioning recommendations.
•    Providing regular reporting on Operate for Reliability trends and coordinate with trainers to correct these issues.
•    Contributing to continuous improvement and optimisation of site systems and assets.
 

Skills and Experience

To be successful in the role you will also display the following skills and attributes:

•    Relevant trade or engineering qualifications (Mechanical or Electrical). 
•    Experience in maintaining heavy mining equipment.
•    Demonstrated experience in leading and mentoring teams in delivering effective maintenance, reliability, or engineering outcomes.
•    Demonstrated skills in risk management, hazard identification and improvement of safety performance.
•    Proven skill in diagnostic problem solving across the mining fleet.
•    Computer literacy – Proficient in SAP, Minecare, Modular, Minvu and MS Office suite.
•    A can-do attitude, positively impacting culture.
•    Excellent interpersonal and communication skills across all levels of the business.
