Job Tasks and Responsibilities
Reporting to the General Manager Business Development, you will be a part of a dynamic and motivated team.
The Senior Business Development Analyst is responsible for supporting the commercial and financial analyses of, and input into, important business decisions such as acquisitions, joint ventures, divestments and major capital investments. Duties include, but are not limited to:
- Provide key insights and analysis to assist with commercial decision-making.
- Financial modelling across the broad suite of investment decisions listed above.
- Support and manage aspects of the due diligence process in business evaluations/decisions.
- Provide financial and commercial input into feasibility studies for development projects.
- Research on industry, competitors and products that are relevant to current or potential business opportunities
- Build and enhance forecasting modelling tools.
- Prepare and present reports on the commercial aspects of operational improvements and business options including emerging businesses; and
- Support the life of mine, strategic planning and short-term planning systems and processes for the business
- Assist in identifying projects and initiatives that assist users in performing their duties and achieving their outcomes in more effective ways
- Assist in the preparation of Yancoal's life of mine and 5-year strategic plans
- Screen M&A, joint venture and divestiture opportunities.
Skills and Experience
- Bachelor's degree: economics, engineering, finance or accounting
- Experience in commercial and business analysis activities in a mining environment a plus
- Exposure to M&A activities desirable.
- Advanced skills in sophisticated financial modelling.
- Strong commercial acumen, including understanding of accounting concepts.
- Experience with due diligence activities
- Ability to present confidently to senior stakeholders throughout the business
- Expert in Microsoft products especially Excel.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Demonstrated skills in continuous improvement activities
