Moolarben Coal mine is Australia’s largest thermal coal producer and has both Underground and Open cut operations producing over 21 million tpa.  It has over 1100 employees with employees residing in the beautiful Mudgee area, with all the facilities for a fantastic family lifestyle. 

Job Tasks and Responsibilities

Reporting to the Projects Delivery Lead, this role is responsible for coordinating day-to-day activities of active projects and contracting partners to ensure safe, efficient and productive delivery of the Project team works program.

 

The role will require you to:

  • Be fully engaged and a proactive member of the team;
  • Proactively assess and lead the management at the work front, of all matters related to safety and health;
  • Lead construction activities to ensure the project team objectives around quality, cost, schedule and project risks are actively monitored, maintained and reported;
  • Actively consult with line leadership and our stakeholders to underpin projects safety, efficiency and success.

Skills and Experience

  • Proficient and diligent in the application, monitoring and development of safe systems of work to safely achieve construction outcomes;
  • Proficient in earthworks, construction and project daily activities;
  • Effective and clear communicator;
  • Proactively lead from the front, and can work with contracting partners in a collaborative manner;
  • Ability to solve problems and provide solution options for consideration as required;
  • Proficient in understanding design drawings, technical specifications, and work methodologies;
  • Be engaged in “changing the way” we do things to drive continuous improvement in every aspect of our Projects Delivery Operation;
  • Experience in NSW Coal Mining environment is advantageous but not essential;
  • Experience in bulk and detailed earthworks, concreting, pumping / piping, topsoil stripping, and rehabilitation works;
  • Basic Microsoft office skills;
  • Be an active and engaged team player in a caring environment that is underpinned by accountability.
