Job Tasks and Responsibilities
The Procurement Specialist is responsible for providing support to the Senior Procurement Manager as well as the Procurement team and site stakeholders in maintaining contract, procurement, sourcing, cost savings and contract management related documentation. Supporting the business regarding contract management processes & systems, providing regular reporting of procurement & contract management activity and providing contractual support as required by the business.
In addition, the Procurement Specialist is responsible for:
- Working with the site stakeholders closely to understand their needs and running sourcing projects where required.
- Educating the business stakeholders on procurement processes where required.
- Driving the contract processes and ensure execution within given timelines.
- Negotiating departures with potential suppliers.
- Developing of Contract Management plans for the business, following contract execution.
- Maintaining and updating the company’s contract system for assigned areas.
- Focus on savings and cost avoidance opportunities.
- Support the effective use and ongoing development of systems and tools within procurement activities.
Skills and Experience
To be successful in this role the ideal candidate will demonstrate:
- Experience in Procurement and Contract preparation
- An understanding of mining operations
- Exceptional problem-solving and analytical skills
- Attention to detail and time management
- Good communication skills and ability to manage a wide array of stakeholders
- Strong operational focus, ability to drive topics and deliver results even under pressure and time constraints
