Owned and Operated by Yancoal Australia, Mount Thorley Warkworth (MTW) is an open cut mine that provides the opportunity to live and work locally. Located 15 kilometres south-west of Singleton in the beautiful Hunter Valley region of New South Wales, MTW relies on both dragline and load haul systems for their continuous operations. The MTW Mine is the largest open cut operation in the region, employing approximately 1,450 people who reside in the local and surrounding communities.
Job Tasks and Responsibilities
We are currently seeking a highly motivated Mining Supervisor to join the MTW Mining team. Reporting to the Prestrip Superintendent, you will be responsible for proactively managing safe and efficient production throughout the shift. Leading a team of Mining Operators, you will drive high performance, operational excellence, and a strong safety culture.
The ideal candidate will bring extensive open cut mining experience along with a proven track record in leading large production teams.

To be successful in the role you will also display the following skills and attributes:
- Proven experience leading an open cut production team in a Mining Supervisor capacity.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to confidently address and resolve operational issues.
- A proactive, team-focused attitude with effective problem-solving capabilities.
- Demonstrated competence in risk management, hazard identification, and a strong commitment to safety performance.
- Ability to establish and maintain positive working relationships with key stakeholders across the business.
- A result focused approach with the ability to influence and contribute positively to team culture.
- Proficiency in computer applications, including MS Office suite (Excel, Word).
- A current OCE Statutory ticket, or a clear commitment to obtaining this qualification.
- Current Australian Open Driver's licence (mandatory).
