Job Tasks and Responsibilities
Reporting to the Underground Operations Manager, you will develop, supervise, monitor and review the mine engineering standards and procedures forming part of the Underground mining operations at Moolarben.
The role will require you to:
- Undertake the role of Statutory Mining Engineering Manager.
- Implementation and verification of associated standards and management plans at the operation.
- Monitoring compliance and influencing improvements through leadership to build on our capability.
- Pursue continuous improvement, excellence and a culture of responsibility and accountability.
- Consultation and involvement in the process of developing production plans to assess mining practices for compliance end efficiencies.
- Lead the Mining Team in promoting a risk management culture at the Mine, ensuring employees identify hazards, looking for safety initiatives and improvements in the workplace.
Skills and Experience
- Tertiary qualification in Mining Engineering, or similar professional training.
- NSW practicing certificate of Manager of Mining Engineering for Underground Coal Mines.
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience as a senior manager or supervisor in a longwall mine.
- Thorough understanding of relevant Work Health and Safety Act and Regulation Legislation.
- Extensive knowledge of Longwall mining systems and equipment.
- Extensive knowledge of Development mining systems and equipment.
- Superior skills in process analysis with a strong systems-based approach.
