Owned and Operated by Yancoal Australia, Mount Thorley Warkworth (MTW) is an open cut mine that provides the opportunity to live and work locally. Located 15 kilometres south-west of Singleton in the beautiful Hunter Valley region of New South Wales, MTW relies on both dragline and load haul systems for their continuous operations. The MTW Mine is the largest open cut operation in the region, employing approximately 1,450 people who reside in the local and surrounding communities.

 

 

Job Tasks and Responsibilities

Reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor, you will be responsible for the execution of planned maintenance and breakdown repairs within our Infrastructure team. You will be working on a range of equipment, including buildings, welders, generators, pumps, lighting plants, substations, and switchyards.


You will be working the 2 panel, day work, Tuesday to Friday roster (44-hour week).

Skills and Experience

To be successful in the role, you will also demonstrate the following skills and attributes:

 

  • High Voltage Electrical Trade Qualification;
  • Proven Heavy Industry experience;
  • Excellent communication skills;
  • Proven ability to work safely in a team environment;
  • Proven skill in diagnostic problem solving;
  • Demonstrated ability to produce a high quality of work;
  • Ability to problem solve technical issues quickly and efficiently.

 

The following skills are not essential however are desirable:

  • SAP experience;
  • High Voltage Switching;
  • Industry relevant qualifications (high risk tickets);
  • Knowledge of planning / scheduling and risk assessment process.
