Job Tasks and Responsibilities
Join our team at Moolarben Coal Operations in this key role supporting environmental compliance and performance across the complex. Based on site and reporting to the Environment and Community Superintendent, you will play an important role in implementing environmental and community programs and ensuring ongoing regulatory compliance. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys a mix of fieldwork, reporting, and stakeholder engagement in a dynamic mining environment.
Key responsibilities include:
- Support implementation and compliance of key Environmental & Community management plans, including Air Quality, Blast, Noise, Energy and Greenhouse Gas plans;
- Coordinate environmental monitoring programs and manage contractor scheduling requirements;
- Contribute to regulatory reporting including NGERS, NPI, ESG, ABS and internal monthly reporting;
- Undertake quarterly environmental data reviews and support performance insights;
- Act as a key point of contact for environmental matters across the operation;
- Support development and rollout of environmental training packages across the complex;
- Assist with preparation of technical reports, documentation and environmental approvals support.
Skills and Experience
- Tertiary qualifications in Environmental Science, Engineering or a similar equivalent;
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills;
- Excellent attention to detail and time management skills;
- Ability to build and maintain effective relationships with all stakeholders;
- Relevant experience in a similar role within the mining industry is desirable.
