Job Tasks and Responsibilities
The Dispatch Supervisor is responsible for using the Mining Fleet Management System to optimise mining production through equipment utilisation and resource allocation in support of the mining team. This includes ensuring all safety, environmental and production targets are met. The Dispatch Supervisor role works a lifestyle roster incorporating both day and night shifts.
Key responsibilities include:
- Working collaboratively with the Production and Maintenance teams to safely execute and optimise the weekly plan on a shift-by-shift basis within budget;
- Allocate the fleet effectively to optimise production metrics at the lowest cost, managing deviations to avoid production loss;
- Analyse and maintain the mine model and high data integrity for performance and reporting with a goal of increasing productivity;
- Ensure compliance to plan each shift and escalate any non-compliances or deviations accordingly;
- Provide planning and leadership to the frontline & key stakeholders to effectively co-ordinate shift activities;
- Support the supervisors / OCEs and leaders across departments in safe operations, maintaining clear lines of communication with Production Superintendents and other relevant departments;
- Ensure compliance to the Time Usage Model with real-time application of delays & reducing key process delays for shift optimisation;
- Keen focus on continuous improvement and fleet management.
Skills and Experience
- Previous experience in a dispatch and leadership position;
- Experience in an open cut coal or metalliferous mine;
- Fleet management OEM qualification preferred (MineStar highly advantageous);
- Australian Driver’s License;
- Demonstrated knowledge of mining processes;
- Demonstrated ability and knowledge of planning processes;
- Previous experience in the optimisation of Fleet Management Systems;
- Experience at leading a team in a mining environment;
- Experienced at prioritising competing tasks;
- Excellent communication, interpersonal and organisational skills;
- High level of computer literacy;
- Excellent problem solving skills and logical aptitude;
- Ability to undertake work activities autonomously and in accordance with standards, rules and procedures.
