Owned and Operated by Yancoal Australia, Mount Thorley Warkworth (MTW) is an open cut mine that provides the opportunity to live and work locally. Located 15 kilometres south-west of Singleton in the beautiful Hunter Valley region of New South Wales, MTW relies on both dragline and load haul systems for their continuous operations. The MTW Mine is the largest open cut operation in the region, employing approximately 1,450 people who reside in the local and surrounding communities.
Job Tasks and Responsibilities
MTW’s Coal Handling Preparation Plant (CHPP) is seeking an organised and proactive Administration Assistant to provide service to the CHPP Department on a full-time basis. Reporting to the Maintenance Delivery Superintendent, this role will be responsible for providing administrative support to the key stakeholders within the CHPP department and will contribute to achieving plan on a page targets and building an inclusive safety culture.

To be successful in the role you will also display the following skills and attributes:
Essential Criteria:
- Advanced experience in Microsoft Office programs – Word, Excel, PowerPoint, MS Outlook, database applications
- Effective time management, co-ordination, scheduling, record keeping and organisational skills
- Ability to work independently, with initiative and flexibility
- Ability to communicate and liaise effectively across a variety of stakeholders
- Self-starter with the ability to prioritise and organise effectively
- Ability to problem solve effectively
- Knowledge of mining industry and understanding of a coal handling preparation plant
- Well-developed communication style both verbal and written
Desirable Criteria:
- Certificate IV in Business Administration and experience using SAP
