What does your daily life look like at Yancoal?
We are seeking a team player to operate in a dynamic and fast paced environment. You will have a strong understanding of regional agricultural best practice, a passion for new and emerging agricultural trends along with a sound understanding of water licencing.
As a Tenures Advisor, you will be required to travel to all of our landholdings to strategically and tactically manage the land and water assets of the business that fall within the responsibility of the Tenures Team. Assist the tenures team with other key accountabilities as required.
Your key responsibilities include:
- Proactive management of rural land and water assets
- Develop and implement site specific land management strategies.
- Identify strategic future land use opportunities, including productivity and beneficial post mining land use.
- Liaise and maintain relationships with long-term rural license holders
- Develop and support implementation of farm management plans with long-term rural licensees to benefit relevant stakeholders
- Engage with third party rural consultants, agronomists, irrigation specialists with respect to rural grazing land as required
- Manage water asset portfolio including water access licenses on rural lands, water trades, temporary assignment of water allocations
What do you need to be successful in the position?
Qualifications:
- Highly regarded - Degree Qualification in an associated and relevant discipline
Skills & Experience:
- Essential - Valid driver’s license
- Extensive experience in agricultural, rural land management.
- Sound experience with water management and legislation.
- Strong negotiation skills and ability to communicate at various levels and with diverse stakeholders
- Experience with utilisation of GIS mapping software
- Strong financial acumen covering budgeting, cost control and reporting
- Strong computer literacy including – well-developed Microsoft office skills
