Job Tasks and Responsibilities

We are offering an exciting opportunity for a proactive and motivated person to join our Commercial team based onsite at Moolarben Coal Operations. 

Reporting to the commercial superintendent, you will be responsible for: 

  • Assisting with Monthly management reporting, educating end users of the accounting system with awareness and understanding of processes applicable to the accounting modules.
  • Manage the  Asset Register to ensure all assets are accounted for.
  • Reconcile Asset Register on a quarterly basis.
  • Provide cost reporting analysis to managers and supervisors with transparency of costs.
  • Facilitate cost review meetings with department managers and supervsiors.
  • Administer and control project/CAPEX applications in line with policy and use of the accounting system.
  • Assist with the preparation of financial statements with notes to Join Venture stage where appropriate.
  • Ensure trial balance reconciliations are completed. 

Skills and Experience

What We're looking For: 

  • Tertiary qualifications in accounting
  • Previous experience in commercial accounting roles.
  • Management accounting experience in the resource sector (desirable).
  • Experience with SAP accounting system (desirable).
  • Proficient in using Microsoft Suite of products and accounting software.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and time management skills.
  • Ability to build and maintain effective relationships with all stakeholders.
