Cameby Downs is a small open-cut thermal coal mine in the Surat Basin of southern Queensland, Managed by Yancoal and positioned between Chinchilla and Miles. The site employs around 230 personnel who are committed to fostering a strong culture of teamwork and collaboration. We are currently looking for skilled Maintenance Fitters to ensure our operations run smoothly and efficiently. Job Tasks and Responsibilities

In this position, you will report to the Maintenance Crew Supervisor and join a motivated team. The Maintenance Fitter will perform maintenance, repairs, and servicing on mobile equipment in compliance with OEM specifications, ensuring safety and efficiency while adhering to the procedures and policies of Cameby Downs Mine and Yancoal.

  • Promote and maintain compliance with the Cameby Downs Safety & Health Management System and associated legislative requirements
  • Promote and maintain compliance with the Cameby Downs Environmental Management System and Environmental approvals
  • Perform scheduled and unscheduled maintenance, servicing, and repairs on plant and equipment, in accordance with specified drawings, manufacturer's instructions and good engineering practice.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot problems with plant and equipment

  • Provide accurate and timely reporting and information regarding defects, repairs and maintenance

  • Document changes to any set point's, operational and maintenance issues in the appropriate logs

  • Perform regular plant and equipment inspections

  • Foster respectful and productive working relationships

Skills and Experience

  • Advanced maintenance and fault finding on heavy equipment
  • Basic computer skills (e.g word processing, spread sheets)

  • Ability to self-manage and prioritise work loads

  • Ability to exercise initiative and work both independently and co-operatively as required

  • Skills in hazard identification and responsive to safety issues

  • Previous experience in the maintenance of heavy mobile plant and machinery within a mining or heavy industry environment

    QUALIFICATIONS

  • Relevant trade qualification
  • Current unrestricted Australian Drivers Licence
  • Current Standard 11 induction - advantageous
  • Applicable RII competencies
    • Working at heights
    • Elevated work platform
