Cameby Downs is a small open-cut thermal coal mine in the Surat Basin of southern Queensland, Managed by Yancoal and positioned between Chinchilla and Miles QLD. Being only 3.5hrs from Brisbane. Job Tasks and Responsibilities

The Maintenance department is looking for an Auxiliary Fitter to work a 7:7 Day shift roster 12.25hrs shifts. The role requires you attain a strong level of expertise and practical understanding of plant and equipment, in addition to being capable of executing service and repairs.

  • Conducting in field inspections and repair work on mechanical systems to ensure optimal performance and limit delays
  • Maintain accurate work orders, repairs, maintenance and failure analysis processes
  • Adhering to your responsibilities in relation to the Coal Mining Safety & Health Act and associated regulations

Skills and Experience

 

  • Knowledge of Auxiliary equipment; Pumps gensets, lighting plants, light vehicles and crushers 
  • Sound understanding of risk awareness, hazard identification and a strong commitment to safety
  • Well-developed verbal and written communication skills
  • Good Analytical thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Intermediate SAP & Excel skills
  • Able to work in a team or independently as required
  • Able to determine priorities and communicate with department supervisors 
  • Relevant trade qualification
