Operating an open cut coal mine near Collie in the South West of WA, the operation produces coal for the domestic market with contracts to 2030.
About the Role
We are offering an excellent opportunity for an experienced Coal Quality & Logistics Co-ordinator to join the Premier Coal Technical Services team.
Reporting to the Geology Superintendent, you will be responsible for:
- Provide daily pit-based direction and reporting for coal mining to ensure that product quality and planned recovery is achieved.
- Provide on-ground support in structurally and quality complex coaling areas (e.g. heavily faulted).
- Conduct in-pit and stockpile sampling as required.
- Assist and audit coal stockpile management and related coal movements.
- Monitoring coal blend plans in coordination with geology and production requirements.
Roster: Monday to Friday (Assist with on-call weekend coverage ensuring availability for urgent coal quality issues)
About You
To be successful in this position you will hold the below qualifications & experience;
- Tertiary qualifications in a related discipline, preferred but not essential.
- An interest in geological understandings.
- An exceptional commitment to safety.
- Experience in an active Mine environment is desirable.
- Exceptional attention to detail.
- A professional work ethic and the ability to strive for continuous improvement and to reliably work unsupervised.
- Very good interpersonal skills, including excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Basic Proficiency in MS Excel and Power point applications.
- The ability to confidently pilot UAV or the willingness to learn.
