Our Ashton Coal Operations include an underground mine and coal handling and preparation plant, located in Camberwell.  The site operates 24 hours a day, seven days a week.  

Job Tasks and Responsibilities

 

Reporting to the Technical Services Manager, this role is a key position on site that will support the Underground Production and Technical Services teams and be responsible for:

 

  • Managing the ventilation and gas drainage systems, technical management plans and associated approvals
  • Strategic mine planning
  • Supervision of direct reports

Skills and Experience

 

To be successful in this role, you will possess:

 

  • Tertiary qualifications in Mining Engineering and Ventilation with a current Certificate of Competency (essential)
  • Minimum 3 years previous experience as a Ventilation Officer in an Underground Coal Mine
  • In depth knowledge of ventilation systems, plant and machinery within the mining environment
  • Understanding and experience with providing consistent maintenance, planning and servicing practices relating to ventilation systems
  • Thorough understanding of NSW Coal Mines legislation and its application to ventilation, mine planning and risk management
