We are Australia’s largest pure-play coal producer generating over $10 billion in Foreign Direct Investment; owning, operating or participating in coal mines across NSW, Queensland and Western Australia. Our Ashton Coal Operations include an underground mine and coal handling and preparation plant, located in Camberwell. The site operates 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
Job Tasks and Responsibilities
We are currently seeking an experienced Electrician to join Ashton’s Mobile Maintenance Workshop. Reporting to the Mobile Fleet Maintenance Supervisor, the successful applicant will be responsible for:
- Execution of planned maintenance and breakdown repairs
- Providing electrical support to the mobile maintenance team
- Operate equipment as required to support the operational needs of the business
Skills and Experience
To be successful in securing this role, you will possess the following:
- Electrical Trade Qualification (essential)
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in the mining or heavy industry in a similar role
- Previous experience in a production or maintenance environment (essential)
- Previous experience working with surface mobile equipment specifically electric drive haul trucks, dozers, loaders and light vehicles (essential)
- Ability to effectively problem solve and diagnose machine faults/breakdowns
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- High voltage electrical experience and qualifications (advantageous)
- Electrical license (advantageous)
- Safety conscious with a can-do attitude
