We have an exciting opportunity for a Serviceperson at Yarrabee to join our dynamic Maintenance team based in Blackwater, Queensland, only a couple of hours from the Capricorn Coast.
With an international sales portfolio, Yarrabee is a proud producer of high quality PCI coal and has been operating continuously since 1982. Yarrabee has a strong long term future outlook for ongoing coal production. The site employs a workforce of approximately 450 people, which proudly boasts it's integrated close knit culture of people who collectively pull together as a team. Job Tasks and Responsibilities
Reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor, you will be a part of a dynamic and motivated team. The role will require you to possess a high degree of proficiency and working knowledge of Yarrabee's plant and equipment. You must be able to perform service tasks with minimal supervision from your Supervisor.
You must have proven ability to:
- Comply with all procedures and manufactures instructions relating to the service and repair of plant and equipment on the Yarrabee Mine Site
- Refuelling & basic servicing of Yarrabee’s plant and machinery including excavators, dozers, dump trucks, pumps, lights, etc
- Liaise with OCE’s and Maintenance Superintendent regarding tasks are undertaken in a cooperative and positive manner
- Regularly communicate with production teams regarding timelines for repairs and service
Skills and Experience
To be successful in the role, you will possess the following:
- Sound communication skills
- Basic computer skills
- Ability to self-manage and prioritise work load
- Ability to exercise initiative and work both independently and co-operatively as required
- Skilled in hazard identification and responsive to safety issues
- Previous experience in the maintenance of plant and machinery within a mining or heavy industry environment
- Proven previous experience working with earth moving equipment or heavy commercial vehicle
- Thorough understanding of individual responsibilities in relation to the Coal Mining Safety & Health Act and associated regulations
- Basic mechanical knowledge on heavy equipment
- Applicable Coal Competencies, forklift desirable
- Current Standard 11 Mine Induction (Surface)
- Current Queensland Driver’s licence
