Yarrabee is offering an excellent opportunity for a Senior Training Advisor to join our team and make a significant impact on our site!

Job Tasks and Responsibilities

Reporting to the HSTE&C Manager, the Senior Training Advisor will be responsible for:

  • Ensuring that training and assessment activities within their area of accountability are effectively planned, coordinated and delivered in accordance with the Yarrabee Training Scheme.
  • The development of training and assessment activities, ensuring they are compliant to legislation, system and training frameworks.
  • Provide training and assessment services to support the Yarrabee training function through facilitating and delivering training programs, workplace training and assessments, mentoring of trainers and assessors, records management and auditing.  This includes ensuring that all personnel on site display the required level of competency to perform their role function in a safe and efficient manner.

Skills and Experience

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Certificate IV in Assessment & Workplace Training and/or experience working in a dedicated Training Advisor role 
  • Generic Surface Induction (Standard 11) (Or willingness to obtain) 
  • Possess and maintain a current motor vehicle driver licence
  • Demonstrated ability to facilitate and develop risk assessments
  • Previous experience in the provision of training & assessment services within a Mining environment
  • Demonstrated experience in building relationships with regulatory bodies and senior personnel in relation to training & assessment and associated matters
  • Experienced in applying a training needs analysis and using the information to create an effective and site specific training agenda
  • Experienced in mentoring Employees under training to achieve training and assessment objectives in an open cut mining environment
  • Working knowledge of the current skills packages required for the Coal Industry
  • Well developed verbal and written communication skills
  • Competent on full range of Microsoft programs specifically Excel, Word, Powerpoint, Teams & Outlook
  • Ability to conduct regular quality internal training audits
  • Experience with RS22 and Pegasus will be HIGHLY regarded
