Mine Geologist

About the Role

Reporting to the Senior Mine Geologist, you will be a part of a dynamic and motivated team. The role will require you to:

  • Provide operational geology support ensuring timely and accurate collation of geological data (including QA/QC) and reports.
  • Daily and weekly production tracking and reporting including assisting with EOM reconciliation. Assisting with developing and maintaining geological models through geological mapping.
  • Upholding geological standards and being active with continuous improvement of geological processes. Update and maintain relevant coal quality, geological structure and drill hole databases.
  • Ensure relevant working sections are identified and mined as planned; 
  • Identify, record and implement improvements in coal recovery and improved mining practices. 

 

Roster:    8/6, 10.5 hour shift

Experience

  • 3 years’ experience in the provision of Geological applications within an Open Cut mining environment
  • Previous experience in production coal quality
  • Sound understanding of practical coal mining processes
  • Previous experience carrying out geotechnical inspections on a coal mine
  • Experience with Vulcan or Minex software (desirable) 

Qualifications

  • Geology or other relevant discipline tertiary qualification (mandatory)
  • Current Australian Open Drivers Licence
  • Current Standard 11 Mine Induction (Surface)
