Human Resources Officer

About the Business

We are Australia’s largest pure-play coal producer generating over $10 billion in Foreign Direct Investment; owning, operating or participating in coal mines across NSW, Queensland and Western Australia. 

Owned by Yancoal, Yarrabee is a proud producer of high-quality PCI coal since 1982. We employ approximately 400 people, who are our most valuable asset.

About the Role

Reporting to the Senior Human Resources Advisor, you will be a part of a dynamic and motivated team. The role will require you to:
• Provide generalist HR support to all of site. Covering end to end recruitment, administrative duties, performance management and more, you will gain invaluable exposure to all HR functions. 
• Take responsibility and ownership of HR projects and initiatives to drive positive change on site. 
• Partner with Department Heads, corporate support and the wider Yancoal Human Resources team to drive innovation and deliver best practice Human Resources and Industrial Relations support.

Roster: Monday - Friday, 7am - 4pm with a 2pm finish on Fridays.

You will be driven to succeed in your role and have the ambition to deliver high quality results for your hiring managers and the business while maintaining a high level of attention to detail. With exceptional interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate at all levels, you will be passionate about delivering service excellence to both your internal stakeholders and candidates.

Other key skills, experience and attributes include:

  • Proven experience as a HR officer, administrator or other HR position
  • Are a motivated team-player
  • Are a strong communicator that is excellent at building positive and influential relationships
  • Are an organised professional with good attention to detail
