Owned by Yancoal, Yarrabee is based in Blackwater QLD which is 200 km west of the Capricorn Coast. Yarrabee is a proud producer of high-quality PCI coal since 1982. Yancoal Australia is Australia’s largest pure play coal producer. It boasts three tier one thermal coal mines in New South Wales together with interests in three other metallurgical and thermal coal mines located in New South Wales and Queensland. Job Tasks and Responsibilities
We have an exciting opportunity for a Health, Safety & Training Officer to join our team at Yarrabee Coal. As a HST Officer, you will play a critical role in supporting the site safety, training and compliance activities. This role promotes a proactive safety culture and supports continuous improvement initiatives in health, safety and training. The HST Officer will ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and company policies. This role plays a key part in managing HST systems, coordinating training programs and fostering a strong safety culture across the site.
Skills and Experience
Experience
- Proven experience in health, safety, or training administration within the mining or heavy industry sector.
- Demonstrated ability to manage HST systems, reporting, and compliance activities.
- Experience in stakeholder engagement and providing system training/support.
Skills
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Advanced computer literacy (Microsoft Office Suite, Intelex, Pegasus).
- Excellent organizational and time management abilities.
- Ability to manage competing priorities and work in a fast-paced environment.
