Job Tasks and Responsibilities

The CHPP Maintenance Superintendent is responsible for the maintenance of all CHPP fixed plant and site electrical equipment at Yarrabee

 You will be responsible for supporting the operation in maximising the performance of the CHPP through efficient effective maintenance and robust reliability improvements.

  • Lead Maintenance Operations for CHPP fixed plant and site electrical assets, ensuring reliability and compliance.

  • Manage Safety Systems by identifying hazards, leading investigations, and ensuring compliance with safety regulations.

  • Develop and Execute Maintenance Plans, including scheduling, defect management, and performance reporting.

  • Oversee Budgets and Procurement, including approvals, cost control, and supplier contract management.

  • Lead and Develop Team, including setting goals, coaching, succession planning, and managing performance.

  • Coordinate Across Departments and Suppliers to support efficient operations and continuous improvement.


 

Qualifications, Skills & Experience

Qualifications & Certifications:

  • Engineering Qualification or relevant trade qualification considered

  • Relevant Coal Mining Competencies (incl. S1, S2, S3, G2)

  • Current Open Driver’s License & Generic Surface Induction (S11)

 

Experience:

  • Strong background in electrical/mechanical maintenance in coal or metals processing plants
  • Proven ability to lead multi-disciplinary teams
  • Experience delivering reliability improvement
  • Skilled in fault finding on fixed and mobile plant
  • Competent using SAP (including Master Data) and embedding work management processes
  • Project management experience

  • Strong communication, leadership, and team-building skills
  • Excellent problem-solving and fault-finding abilities
  • Safety-focused with hazard identification expertise
  • Commercially aware with budgeting and planning capability
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Effective in high-pressure, fast-paced environments
  • Able to lead, influence, and prioritize workloads for successful outcomes
