Network and Systems Administrator - Networks

Location: Sydney CBD

Job Tasks and Responsibilities

Reporting to the Senior Networks & Systems Administration – Team Lead, you will be a part of a dynamic and motivated team. The Network and Systems Administrator provides expert technical knowledge in the provision and maintenance to Yancoal Australia’s entire ICT infrastructure. This covers both the hardware and software requirements for Yancoal’s information and network systems. This position ensures Yancoal’s information systems are continually available in accordance with the IT change management policy.

Skills and Experience

Essential Criteria:

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in an ICT information and network administration position
  • 5+ years experience in a large corporate or telco IP network communications environment.
  • Experience with LAN and WAN technologies, management and troubleshooting techniques
  • Understanding of network technologies and industry trends, including routing, switching, telecommunications, SDN, NFV, and how to apply them at scale.
  • Experience with advanced NW Technologies (e.g. WAN Accelerators (RiverBed), Content Filters and Load Balancers)
  • Experience with WiFi Tecnologies
  • Experience with Firewall (e.g. Juniper, Cisco, Palo Alto)
  • Familiarity with Mine Site Wireless Technologies (e.g. WiFi, WiFi Mesh, Microwave and eLTE)
  • Knowledge of Dark Fiber and CWDM/DWDM.
  • Knowledge of MPLS, BGP & Internet Exchange Peering.
  • Experience in deploying SNMP based monitoring solutions (e.g. PRTG)
  • Video Conferencing
  • ITIL 3 Foundation
  • Project Management Fundamentals

 

Desirable Criteria:

  • Bachelor Degree in Computer Science/Engineering or equivalent
  • Knowledge of IP security implementation, multi-vendor IPS, URL filtering.
  • Knowledge of LTE / VoLTE / 4G network design and configuration
  • Experience with Digital Radio Technologies
  • Control Systems Solutions (e.g. Citect SCADA, Honeywell SCADA)
  • Process Control Infrastructure
  • IP Telephony and AV Solutions
  • Citrix Administration
