Graduate Mining/Civil Engineer

Job Tasks and Responsibilities

We are offering an excellent opportunity for a Mining/Civil Engineering Graduate to join Yancoal’s Graduate Program commencing in 2021. The graduate program will be managed by Yancoal’s Corporate Technical Team and will include the following key aspects:

• Participation in the program over a two (2) year period
• Rotational experience across our Open Cut and Underground mines in NSW and QLD
• Gaining a wide range of mine planning experience at different operating sites
• Gaining “hands on” mining experience at the coal face
• Gaining an understanding of Yancoal’s core work and relationships with its key stakeholders.

You will be a part of a dynamic and motivated team. The role will require you to have:

• Well-developed verbal and written communication skills
• Problem solving ability and capacity to quickly learn on the job
• Well-developed interpersonal and teamwork skills
• Enthusiasm to embrace a mixed field and office role
• Well-developed Microsoft Office Skills


Essential Criteria:

  • Enrolled in and expected to complete Tertiary Qualifications in Mining/Civil Engineering in 2020
  • For Civil Engineering Graduates, Yancoal will support you to study part time online in an Associate Degree of Mining Engineering (Mining) through the Univeristy of Southern Queensland
  • Citizenship, residency or visa rights to work in Australia
  • Current Australian driver’s license
